Bio and experience
Tim Maxwell is a former broadcast journalist with more than 20 years working in the media, including three years of experience in personal finance, specializing in insurance, credit cards, interest rates, banking, retirement, student and personal loans, and mortgages.
Tim started his career as a broadcast news writer and field journalist before working at 20th Century Fox and NBC Universal as a digital media specialist for over 19 years. He became an SEO writer at TheHOTH and a financial writer at LendingTree, FinanceBuzz, Dotdash Meredith, and Fox Business.
Tim is currently a financial contributor at CreditCards.com, Bankrate, Experian, CBS News, Newsweek, and Red Tree Media. He is also the founder of the Incomist where he publishes personal finance content.
